writing very early. She wrote her first story when she was in 9th grade.
Tremendous appreciation and encouragement of her friends made her write again.
And that was the point when she decided not to look back but forward and write
and write.
She started
writing for "Phool
Magazine" for Kids. Her first story to be published was "Or Kahani
Badal Gai" in 1994. She continued writing for
kids in Phool Magazine and she was awarded by
the Governor of Punjab, thrice!
There lies a
story behind what made her write for grownups! In one of the functions she was
attending, she met a Bengali girl who came to Pakistan in search of a man
ditched her and came to Pakistan without even telling her and remained out of
contact. When she came in search of him, she happened to meet him but to her
surprise he was already married with his cousin. The Bengali girl was so
disappointed that she went back. The story of the beautiful Bengali girl with
long hair, beautiful yet depressed and withered eyes left a huge impact on
Saima's mind and she decided to put her feelings on paper which was shaped and
named as " Titli Rasta Bhool Gai" which was
published in Hina
Digest in
2000.
"Muhabbat Mer Bhi Sakti Hai" was her second story; based on another live incident related to one of
her University fellow. It was another tragic ending story, published in Kiran
Digest October
2002.
In November
2002, "Hum Us Ke
Hain" was published in Kiran Digest also.
It had a happy end.
She wrote "Muhabbat Humsafar
Meri" in July 2003 and it was her first contribution for Shuaa
Digest. She wrote "Ay Mausam-e-Gerya" ( Kiran Digest) , “Ab Zindagi Se Pyar Hai” (Pakiza
Digest) in the same time frame! and from then she never stopped.
