کی ہدایت کےلیے جو مختلف معجزانہ اسلوبِ بیان اختیار فرمائے ہیں ان میں سےایک یہ بھی ہے کہ گزشتہ قوموں کے واقعات و قصص کے ذریعہ ان کے نیک و بد اعمال اور ان اعمال کے ثمرات و نتائج کو یاد دلائے اور عبرت و بصیرت کا سامان مہیا کرے۔ قرآن مجید کے قصص و واقعات کا سلسلہ بیشتر گزشتہ اقوام اور ان کی جانب بھیجے ہوئے پیغمبروں سے وابستہ ہے اور جستہ جستہ بعض اور واقعات بھی اس کے ضمن میں آ گئے ہیں۔ مسلمان قوم کی پستی کو دیکھتے ہوئے مولانا محمد حفظ الرحمٰن سیوہاروی نے قرآن مجید میں موجود ان قصص کو یکجا صورت میں پیش کرنے کا اہتمام کیا تاکہ ان سے عبرت و بصیرت حاصل کی جائے۔ اس وقت آپ کے سامنے ’قصص القرآن‘ کی پہلی اور دوسری جلد ہے جس میں حضرت آدم سے لے کر حضرت یحییٰ علیہما السلام تک کے واقعات نہایت مفصل اور محققانہ انداز میں بیان کیے گئے ہیں۔ تمام واقعات کی بنیاد اور اساس قرآن عزیز کو بنایا گیا ہے اور احادیث صحیحہ اور واقعات تاریخی کے ذریعے ان کی توضیح و تشریح کی گئی ہے۔ خاص خاص مقامات پر تفسیری، حدیثی اور تاریخی اشکالات اور بحث و تمحیص کے بعد سلف صالحین کے مسلک کے مطابق ان کا حل پیش کیا گیا ہے۔ ہر پیغمبر کے حالات قرآن عزیز کی کن کن سورتوں میں بیان ہوئے ہیں ان کو نقشہ کی شکل میں ایک جگہ دکھایا گیا ہے۔ علاوہ بریں ’نتائج و عبر‘ یا ’عبر و بصائر‘ کے عنوان سے اصل مقصد اور حقیقی غرض و غایت یعنی عبرت و بصیرت کے پہلو کو خاص طور پر نمایاں کیا گیا ہے۔(ع۔م)
