Six Kalimas | Arabic, Urdu & English | PDF Free Download

The Six Kalimas represent a set of six crucial Islamic affirmations and phrases that are essential for every Muslim to learn and commit to memory. These declarations are foundational to Islamic beliefs and are typically introduced to children at an early age. Each Kalima addresses different facets of faith, such as the affirmation of faith, the singularity of Allah, and the exaltation of Allah.
Below is a comprehensive overview of each of the Six Kalimas:

First Kalima (Kalima Tayyab):

لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّٰهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ ٱللَّٰهِ
ترجمہ: "اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، محمد (ﷺ) اللہ کے رسول ہیں۔"
Transliteration: La ilaha illallah Muhammadur Rasulullah.
Translation: "There is no deity but Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah."
Significance: This serves as the declaration of faith (Shahada), which is the cornerstone of Islam. It affirms the oneness of Allah and acknowledges the prophethood of Muhammad (ﷺ).
Usage: It is recited during the conversion to Islam, in daily prayers, and serves as a reminder of one's faith.

Second Kalima (Kalima Shahadat):

Translation: "I testify that there is no god but Allah, the One, without any partner, and I testify that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger."
Significance: This Kalima reinforces the testimony of faith and the uniqueness of Allah.
Usage: It is frequently recited during Salah (prayer) and serves as a reaffirmation of faith.

Third Kalima (Kalima Tamjeed):

Translation: Exalted is Allah, and all praise belongs to Him. There is no deity except Allah, and Allah is the Greatest. There is no power and no strength except through Allah, the Most High, the Most Great.
Significance: This Kalima serves to glorify Allah while recognizing His immense greatness and authority.
Usage: It is recited as a means of praising Allah and seeking His assistance.

Fourth Kalima (Kalima Tauheed):

Translation: There is no god but Allah, the One, who has no partners. To Him belongs the dominion, and to Him belongs all praise. He grants life and brings death, and He is ever-living, never to die. He is the Lord of Glory and Honor. In His hand lies all goodness, and He is capable of all things.
Significance: This Kalima highlights the oneness of Allah (Tawheed) and His supreme qualities.
Usage: It is recited to affirm one's belief in the uniqueness and power of Allah.

Fifth Kalima (Kalima Astaghfar):

Transliteration: Astaghfirullah rabbi min kulli dhambin adhnabtuhu amdan aw khata’an sirran aw alaniyatan wa atubu ilaihi minadh dhambil ladhi a’lamu wa minadh dhambil ladhi la a’lamu innaka anta allamul ghuyubi wa sattarul uyubi wa ghaffarudh dhunubi wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billahil aliyyil azeem.
Translation: I seek forgiveness from Allah, my Lord, for every sin I have committed, whether intentionally or unintentionally, in secret or openly. I turn to Him for the sins I am aware of and those I am not. Indeed, You are the Knower of the unseen, the Concealer of faults, and the Forgiver of sins. There is no power nor strength except with Allah, the Most High, the Great.
Significance: This Kalima serves as a profound supplication for seeking Allah's forgiveness.
Usage: It is recited to ask for forgiveness for one's sins and errors.

Sixth Kalima (Kalima Radd-e-Kufr):

Transliteration: Allahumma inni a’udhu bika min an ushrika bika shai’an wa ana a’lamu bihi wa astaghfiruka lima la a’lamu bihi tubtu anhu wa tabarra’tu minal kufri washshirki walkizbi walghibati walbid’ati walnamimati walfawahishi walbuhtani walma’asi kulliha wa aslamtu wa aqulu la ilaha illallahu Muhammadur Rasulullah.
Translation: O Allah, I seek Your protection from knowingly associating partners with You, and I ask for Your forgiveness for any unintentional transgressions. I turn away from such actions and renounce disbelief, polytheism, falsehood, gossip, innovation, slander, immorality, false accusations, and all forms of sin. I submit myself to You, affirming that there is no deity but Allah, and that Muhammad is His Messenger.
